Happy Holidays Print

The holiday season has always been a time to reach out and connect with friends and family. And for me, I see it as an opportunity to channel my grade school days where we made our own Christmas cards. When I sat down to do this print I gave myself one hour. With no pre-planned sketch and an idea in mind, I just started carving and hoped for the best. It took more time finding the ink, the paper and dusting off the press than it did to pull a couple of prints. There is true joy in creating and not over-thinking a piece of art. Cheers!

ThinkTank Shape Shifter Camera Bag

I have been using this bag and I find it pretty functional for most of my travel needs.  The construction and design is second to none - ThinkTank makes a great product. The pluses are that I can carry two camera bodies and a couple of lenses plus all the digital
peripheral components that go with digital photography. The big plus for me was a case for the laptop.

My original intent was to carry this pack when I went out to shoot on the street. But the reality of it is that it gets very heavy very quickly. I can strip it down and make it functional which works sometimes. A negative too is that once the lens is mounted on the camera, there is no quick store pocket. I need to break the camera down for it to fit in the bag properly.

What's your favorite camera carrying pack?

Steve Jobs and NeXT

This video is so cool. It provides us insight on how Steve Jobs started NeXT computer.  We see a moment with the legendary Paul Rand but more importantly, how a man had a dream and how he empowered people around him to move forward and succeed.  A priceless insight.

“Wintersköl 2012: To Die For” design

V+I was chosen to design the visual for next years Winterskol 2012 theme. The Aspen Chamber of Commerce holds a contents for the slogan and this years " first winner" was the slogan "To Die For". From a designer's point of view this is candy land. After spending time in Mexico and Arizona where people celebrate the Day of the Dead, the icons floating around were abundant. But unfortunately the vocal minority won out and a new slogan contest was announced. Here are a few of the designs that were work in progress.
